Last week, the 23rd edition of the professional seminar TLib
- Trends in Libr@ries 2024 took place at the State Scientific Library in Banská
Bystrica. The event was attended by more than 200 experts from libraries,
archives, publishing houses and galleries from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and
Poland. The central theme of the lectures and subsequent discussions was
"Treasures of Slovak culture and their presentation at home and
abroad". From the individual presentations, the participants could learn
about the unusual and original projects, activities and services that the staff
of the above-mentioned organisations carry out in order to promote the unique
Slovak culture.
Our representatives were also invited to this important
international event. Although we are an industrial company, a significant part
of our wide portfolio of products and equipment is oriented and adapted to the
needs of libraries, galleries and archives not only in Slovakia, but also
abroad. Our many years of experience, continuous product improvement, ability
to meet various customer requirements and positive customer references are the
reasons why we have become a sought-after manufacturer and supplier.
Speaking on behalf of our company was the Head of Project
Management, Ing. Róbert Drevenák. In his speech he presented the products for
the individual sectors. Experts from museums and galleries were impressed by
the wide range of products from the EK 8000 series. These are designed not only
for public exhibition of exhibits, but also for their safe storage and
protection in the depository parts of the institutions. He noted that the
individual products are not standardised, but custom-designed and made
specifically for each customer.
For the needs of archives, he presented our efficient
solution: the EK 7500 - sliding shelving systems. These create only one access
aisle at the location where the required item is located. In this way, the
available space can be used up to 85%, whereas storage in traditional shelving
with permanent access aisles only uses up 40% of the available space.
Library staff were most impressed by the EK 7600L - library
shelving and, above all, by the unique EK 10100 - BiblioMat, which we developed
to enable library clients not only to borrow but also to return books 24/7,
without any restrictions.
We would like to thank the State Scientific Library in
Banská Bystrica for the invitation, a lot of interesting information, pleasant
atmosphere and for the opportunity to present our products to the international
professional public.
