The model LBS 066 made by PROWELD is a condenser welding gun that welds bolts with the method of pin ignition and condenser discharge. The small pin at the end of the bolt touches the component. After we turn on the electric current, there is an electric arc and both the component material and the bolt melt down. Once the current is turned off, the material hardens and it makes firm structure.
The spot welding without gap uses an electrical condenser-type source. The principle of the method lies in the contact surface shape. The welding area of the bolt has the 0.8 - 1-millimeter long tip. The bolt is inserted into a gun in which the gripping mechanism is provided with a spring. The bolt is laid is inserted into the gun in which there is spring-type clamping mechanism. The bolt pin is laid into the mechanism and the spring pushes it against the sheet metal. Turning on the welding switch, we switch on the electrical circuit and the capacitor discharge gets to the bolt pin which is the weakest point. The bolt pin is heated to the high temperature resulting in the metal evaporation and an electric arc ignites and burns over the bolt surface. The spring force pushes the bolt to the base material perpendicularly, which guarantees high-quality welding.
Thanks to the short process time, it is not possible to overheat the surrounding material and thus it does not influence temperature in a negative way. The advantage of the technology is especially nice weld joint look. This is the right method for bolt welding bolts on complex surfaces, such as sandblasted surfaces or the surfaces with forge imperfections. It is extremely suitable for welding the parts made of galvanized material.
