KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., welcomed a television crew from the TA3 program “Code: Defense” to its production facilities. The report presented our company as an important part of one of the largest modernization projects of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic (OS SR). Its goal is the production and delivery of armored combat vehicles CV90 MkIV, on which dozens of Slovak companies are collaborating together with the renowned Swedish company BAE Systems Hägglunds, including ours.
Filming also took place in a new assembly hall with an area of approximately 4,500 m², where complete assembly and final testing of CV90 turrets will be carried out. “In these premises, the complete assembly of the turret onto the vehicle will take place, including its final testing,” said Ján Michálek, Sales Director and Chairman of the Board of KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s. He also emphasized the complexity of the project: “It is not only about precision in manufacturing, but also about precision in the preparation phase.”
A significant part of our team is already intensively involved in the CV90 project. “Nearly 55 employees are working on the CV90 project, 90% of whom are dedicated exclusively to this or other defense projects,” said Tomáš Starec, CEO of KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s. He also revealed that the company is preparing for further expansion: “In the coming weeks, we will undergo a major relocation to new premises, where approximately 50 jobs for subassembly production will be created.”
Our company is involved in the project not only through component manufacturing but also through development. “We are no longer just manufacturers of individual assemblies; we also participate in the development of new products for BAE Systems,” added Ján Michálek. The goal is to build long-term partnerships and strengthen the position of Slovak industry in the international environment.
At the same time, we support this effort with significant investments in development. In the past two years alone, investments in technology, infrastructure, and skilled personnel have exceeded 20 million euros.
