On 27 September 2024, a press conference was held in the newly built hall of our company KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., with the participation of many domestic and foreign guests, including media representatives.

The significant events that motivated the whole press conference were reported by Ján Michálek, Sales Director of our company. In the beginning of his speech he pointed out the fact that KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its foundation. On this occasion, he expressed his pride in the achievements and the establishment of stable partnership cooperation with renowned global companies from various industries. He also acknowledged the contribution of current and former employees.

The second topic was the opening ceremony of the new hall in which the press conference was held. The state-of-the-art premises, covering an area of almost 4,500 m2, will be used to assemble turrets for CV90 armoured combat vehicles manufactured by the Swedish company BAE Systems Hägglunds. As Ján Michálek said, in 2024 we will invest approximately 15 million euros for the construction of new premises, purchase of advanced technologies, improvement of work processes and human resources. The expansion of production capabilities and capacities will provide an opportunity to establish ourselves in new markets and different segments.

The third reason for the press conference was the official signing of a contract with BAE Systems Hägglunds, which has chosen us as the manufacturer and supplier of turrets for CV90 vehicles also under its contract with the Czech Republic.

Tomáš Starec, CEO of KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., in his speech informed about further investments in the form of a new production hall, the construction of which is already underway, and about a significant expansion of the number of employees. He expressed his intention to create up to 275 new jobs by the end of 2026.

Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, CEO of BAE Systems Hägglunds and Ivan Rohaľ, Director of BAE SYSTEMS Hägglunds for Slovakia and Hungary, appreciated our mutual cooperation, efforts and investments that the implementation of this project required. At the same time they expressed their confidence in the continuation of the high level of cooperation, which will result in the delivery of 152 CV90 vehicles for the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic and also within the framework of future contracts.

The official signing of the contract by the representatives of both companies was followed by the speech of the Chairman of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region - Jaroslav Baška. He positively perceived the investment in the defence industry, which has a long tradition in the whole region. He also appreciated the cooperation with BAE Systems Hägglunds because of the creation of new job opportunities and the development of the Slovak economy.
