We use LIKAR’s fully automatic vacuum machine to heat and form plastic parts from the HPS and ABS plastic sheets.
We clamp the duralumin or pertinax mold on the workbench and the plastic sheet is put into to the clamp frame. The heater comes automatically closer, making the plastic sheet warm enough to be formable. Then the heater comes away so that the melted plastic sheet is partially inflated, and the mold pushes it from the bottom. In this moment, the air extraction is so fast that it makes vacuum in the space between the plate and the form, resulting in the sheet surrounds the mold and is stamped by the surface. After the part is cooled down, it is taken out of the mold and the excess of material is removed.
The LIKAR vacuum machine isn’t used only for easy-shaped small-sized parts and interior fittings for the products from Series EK 1500 and EK 2000 (e.g. coin holders, banknote holders and storage trays), but also for the front covers of the mailboxes.
